Ahead of this weekend's Ligonier Marshmallow Festival, Mrs. Kimmel's 6th period cooking class took the challenge on of making their own marshmallows! These marshmallows will find purpose this upcoming annual festival that the Ligonier community is all looking forward to!
Not sure who else is approaching a milestone at this point, but we celebrated another one within the West Noble volleyball program Tuesday night.
Junior Ella Limerick has reached 1,000 assists for her career and was celebrated at home in the first set against Tippecanoe Valley, part of a 3-0 Charger win in a rematch from last year's sectionals. Less than a week ago, classmate Elyse Mead reached 1,000 kills for her career, the two certainly a big part of each other's statistical success.

The West Noble tradition continued to start the weekend as the National Honor Society held its annual Tapping Ceremony Friday afternoon. The entire student body was on hand in the cafeteria as NHS' senior members tapped the new juniors that will become the next wave of students to carry the honor at West Noble. Led by sponsor Charles Grady, the NHS tabbed 19 new members in the latest installment of the club.
West Noble soccer is excited for the opportunity to play on a professional pitch against one of its rivals!
Thursday, Sept. 10, West Noble will take on Central Noble in both girls and boys soccer matches at the new Ruoff Mortgage Stadium in Fort Wayne! The girls match is set for 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at approximately 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the following link:

Part of the shuffle West Noble's campuses experienced to begin the school year was the Applied Skills crew at the high school moving rooms. With that, instructor Haley Duncan called upon the community to help make their new room a little brighter.

At the West Noble School Board meeting this week, the Spotlight On Success centered on the West Noble English Learners (EL) program. WNSC curriculum director, Sarah Wilson, as well as a handful of EL instructors spoke about the success points from the previous year, and the momentum they have heading into this school year.
We run this county, literally!
More good news from the West Noble cross country programs as both the boys and girls programs reigned as champions at last night's Noble County Cross Country Challenge.
West Noble girls cross country team earned a 25-34 victory over East Noble to lock up its title behind an impressive pack-running performance. East Noble’s Lynden Boese and Gracyn Koons were one-two at the line, but West Noble then took control by claiming the next six team positions. Karla Dominguez led the Chargers, finishing third overall in (22:09). Lynden Chordas, Victoria Mendoza, Margarita Marin and Jacqueline Silva followed Dominguez home.
The WNCC boys cross country teams won the Noble County Challenge, taking down East Noble 19-42. Seven Charger runners placed in the top 15 with Graysen Ruch leading the way in first place (18:14) and Caleb Peterson crossing the finish line in second place. The boys will be back on the course on Saturday at the Prairie Heights Invitational.

In recognition of 40 years of service to the West Noble School Corporation, retired educator and coach, Dale Marano, was honored at this week's WNSC School Board meeting. Marano spoke of his time at West Noble and the appreciation he has for all of the people who were part of his journey.
“We’ve been blessed all along on this journey,” began Marano. “I was blessed when (former WNHS principal) Roger (Schermerhorn) took a chance on me over 40 years ago, and I’ll never forget that. I was blessed with wonderful kids to teach throughout all those years, thousands, and too many to mention. I was blessed by (WNHS athletic director) Tom (Schermerhorn), he allowed me to coach girls basketball for 14 years.
"I guess when I sit back and reflect on everything, I have a sense of calm. I feel really, really blessed by everything, the accumulation of everything. It’s been a really wonderful journey for me, and I appreciate everyone, I appreciate the school board. It’s been a good journey for me.”

We have a repeat champion on the cross country circuit! West Noble's girls varsity team ran away with this morning's Hokum Karem hosted by Elkhart Christian Academy.
Paired teammates alternated one mile wooded trail loops on the grounds of First Baptist Church in Bristol. Teams were scored by combining the times of their top 3 relay duos.
After narrowly winning by 13 seconds last year the Charger girls ran away with the team trophy this year with an 11 minute margin of victory over runner-up and host Elkhart Christian. Concord took 3rd followed by Northwood in 4th.
Individually, the Charger duo of sophomores Karla Dominguez and Lynden Chordas came in first place with a combined 6 mile time of 37:13 (6:12 mile avg). The freshman duo of Maggie Marin and Sara Aguilar came in 3rd place with a time of 39:12 (6:32 avg). The senior duo of Jacky Silva and Victoria Mendoza took 5th place in 39:32 (6:35 avg). Rounding out the varsity race with an 11th place finish was the duo of Monet Bieberich and Jennifer Salas-Gonzalez with a time of 43:34 (7:15 avg).
In the JV race, the sister duo of Maryana and Olivia Troxel claimed victory. The Allison duo of Bloss and Giltner took 5th.
The Chargers race their first 5K of the season on Tuesday at the "All Noble County Championship" meet hosted by Oak Farm Montessori in Avilla.

The camp begins on Sept. 5 and continues into early October, a five-session learning space to develop volleyball skills and fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and conclude with live-action scrimmages.

Parkview Sports Medicine One is hosting the 2026 Soccer Series, and the Chargers and Lady Chargers will take on Central Noble on Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. for the girls, and 8 p.m. for the boys.
Both games will take place at the new Ruoff Mortgage Stadium on the south side of Fort Wayne.
