West Noble Unified Track completed its season this afternoon as part of the Fort Wayne North Sectional.
The Chargers finished eighth overall as a unit, five spots outside the top three qualifiers for the regional. Homestead, Fort Wayne Carroll and Columbia City were the team qualifiers from the meet.
The events were all done in flights and scores were accumulated from those flights based off times/distances. West Noble had four entrants place in the top two in their respective flights.
Dulce Vega was first in her heat of long jump at 9-4.75 and Mia Vega was also tops in her flight of shot put at 18-9. Grace Zeigler was second in a 100 dash flight at 22.93, and West Noble's 4x100 relay team of Dominic Miller, Riley Barth, Isabella Kimmel and Dulce Vega were also second in their flight at 1:06.53.

History was made Friday evening in Kendallville!
For the first time in 35 years, and for just the second time ever, West Noble is celebrating a sectional championship in girls tennis! The Lady Chargers knocked off Lakewood Park, 4-1, Thursday evening, then came back to the county seat to face East Noble in the finals.
East Noble quickly went up 1-0 with a two and one win at one doubles, but West Noble got one back with a one and love win from Natalia Riegsecker at one singles. East would retake the lead with a two and one win at three singles, setting up the drama.
At two singles, Ava DeLong navigated a 6-3 win in the first set, and despite needing five spars at deuce in at championship point, DeLong tied up the score with a 6-1 capper. Her adjustments in her approach won't show up in the box score, but forcing East Noble's hand on defense was key to the win.
All eyes then turned two dubs, as Darcy Ritchie and Aubrey Hilbish weathered a 7-4 tiebreaker to take the first set, breaking the spirit of the Knight duo and its supporters. A clinical 6-1 in the second set off a celebration a long time in the making, and gave West Noble its first sectional title in any sport since 2023, when boys soccer held the trophy.
West Noble continues onto the Fort Wayne Carroll Regional, where it will face Fort Wayne Dwenger in one of the semi-finals. Fort Wayne Carroll and Angola meet in the other semi-final. Matches are scheduled to begin around 4:15 p.m. at the Carroll Tennis Complex.
Congrats to our champions, and now let's take it to Dwenger!

It was a field heavy result for the West Noble boys track team as part of the East Noble Boys Track Sectional.
Xy'Mire Barnes-Bridges claimed the Chargers' only title of the night, sailing 21-8 to win the long jump. Barnes-Bridges was just 1.5" short of tying the program record in his best attempt of the night.
Dustin Richardson claimed a pair of runner-up finishes, beginning his journey back to the IHSAA State Finals in the high jump with a clearance of 6-4 and was also second in the 100-meter dash at 11.16. Jackson Christlieb competed in his first sectional as a freshman, and was impressive in taking third in the 400 (51.46) and Ethan Yates added a third in discus (145-1), the two also making the regional round with Richardson and Barnes-Bridges.
West Noble may get a phone call with its 4x100 relay, which was fourth, as was Graysen Ruch in the mile, in what was a stacked and fast four laps around the track.
Congrats to the Chargers, and good luck to everyone who advanced another week!

It would have been very easy for Mason Taylor to fold up the tent and just be good with it after a senior year full of injuries. But his persistence and mindset gave him the chance to sign a National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball and academic careers at Marian University.

The track postseason is here, and West Noble's girls track program were in action Tuesday night at the East Noble Sectional. The Lady Chargers were highlighted by a monster night from Gimena Aguilar, who set a sectional record in the 100 dash at 12.56 to claim her first-ever championship. She also qualified for the regional in the 200 dash by placing third, and was second in high jump. She hit the full house by rocketing up from sixth to third on the final leg of the 4x100 relay to get the Lady Chargers to next week.
Kayle Jordan added a second title for the Lady Chargers, repeating as champion in the shot put. Jordan set the standard in the prelims with a throw of 39-5, and no one was able to catch her as the senior will enter the regional as one of the favorites.
Trinity Parson kept her senior season alive, helping the 4x800 relay to a third-place finish and then was second in the mile run.
West Noble finished third as a team, chasing both Lakeland and champion East Noble.
Congrats to all of the Lady Chargers that have at least one more meet to chase State glory!

We have some more good news on the academic side at West Noble High School!
Freshmen Charlotte Hawkey and Lyla Becker took the AAPPL Spanish test (ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages) and they did amazing. They got achieved the intermediate level so far. They had taken Spanish for two years and received extra help after school this year. They went above and beyond to someday reach the requirements to obtain the Indiana Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency.
Congratulations to both on their dedication to their learning trajectory at West Noble!

Monday night was the time for the West Noble choirs to come together for its spring showcase.
Sixth grade through high school all performed three-song medleys, the sixth and seventh grades also coming together to perform 'Better Together' and the eighth and high school ensembles also combining to close the night with 'Stronger Together'.
Each of the grades were also presented with year-end awards from choir director Sarah Sponseller, who has absorbed the high school choir this semester along with her work with the middle schoolers.
Great show overall, keep working hard!

West Noble just completed its NECC tournament work this past weekend, and found out where it's sectional road will run this week at East Noble.
The five-team bracket at East Noble has the Lady Chargers taking on Lakewood Park Christian Thursday in one of the semi-finals. A win will have West Noble back in Kendallville Saturday morning for the finals.
It's been a great regular season, but let's break that 34-year drought and get that second team title!

The West Noble FFA got to show off a little this morning as the club hosted the West Noble Primary kids for a petting zoo. Easily one of the most entertaining days of the year for the FFA, they had out guinea pigs, rabbits, roosters, goats and cows for the little ones to interact with, as well as some planting and machinery opportunities. They even had a giant John Deere tractor in the lot for the kids to climb around!
