West Noble FFA members had a great first day at National FFA Convention. A tour at RSG Sire Center, a stop and treat at Donaldson's Fine Chocolate, and finished the afternoon watching races at Indianapolis Horseshoe. More to come as they continue with one of the biggest FFA events in the country!

Charger Woods will offer a spooktacular time this weekend as the West Noble Charger Haunted Trail is set again for this year. Dress up and prepare for a hauntingly good time this Saturday!

A bittersweet day for West Noble cross country, but ultimately, a good day.
The team season ended for both the boys and girls teams, the girls finishing 12th and the boys 14th in the team standings at Saturday's New Haven Regional.
However, among those results, sophomore Graysen Ruch qualified for the IHSAA State Finals by finishing 16th overall with a time of 16:20, landing among the top 15 runners not from a qualifying team.
The Lady Chargers had a near miss for a state finalist as freshman Karla Dominguez placed 37th overall with a time of 19:39, but was 16th in the individual standings for the non-team qualifiers, unfortunately coming in behind a trio of runners that got her at the line by less than a second. That puts Dominguez in the awkward holding pattern of hoping to get a callback from the state if someone can't make it to next weekend.
So in the interim, salute to Ruch and his qualification for the IHSAA State Finals, see what you can do on the famed LaVern Gibson course next weekend!!!

First hurdle cleared.
Five first-half rushing touchdowns set in motion an easy night for West Noble Friday night in a 42-0 win over Fort Wayne Concordia in the opening game of the IHSAA Class 3-A Sectional 26 tournament.
Brogan Parks and Xymire Barnes-Bridges each rushed for two scores, Trey Shisler added another running score, and Shisler found Brayden Limerick for a passing score to cap the evening's scoreboard fireworks.
West Noble will stay in Ligonier next week to host Angola, who pulled a mild upset over No. 7 Tippecanoe Valley, 21-6. The rematch with the Hornets will begin at 7 p.m. on Charger Hill, the winner advancing to the sectional championship game on Nov. 7.

West Noble FFA has had a busy start to the school year. Earlier this October, junior high FFA members competed at the state Livestock Skillathon contest. Members of the team consisted of Easton Kootnz, Levi Wechter and Braxton Koontz. The team was 33rd out of 84.
The FFA also has been doing community service, and one of their projects was highway cleanup on US 33 near the West Noble campus. FFA advisor Khara Kimmel reported the group was able to pick up over 10 bags of trash to help keep our area clean and respectable.
Well done West Noble FFA!

Heartbreak in Syracuse this evening.
NorthWood played a complete game and proved the better team Saturday night in a stunning 3-1 win over No. 5 West Noble in the championship game at the Wawasee Volleyball Sectional.
The championship is the seventh straight for the Panthers, stifling West Noble's shot at winning its first since 2018.
The Lady Chargers finish its season 29-3 overall, winners of the NECC regular season and tournament championships and finish with the most wins in a season in team history.
Nothing at all to be ashamed of, and the future is bright as the program graduates just two players in Abby Seigel and Beverly Vizcaino.
Good luck to the Panthers as they carry on in the state tournament.

Some great news from our West Noble teams competing in sectional tournaments today!
The boys and girls cross country teams both qualified for the regional round after finishing fourth in their respective standings. The boys were led by Graysen Ruch's fifth place finish and the girls had Karla Dominguez finish tenth to lead their charge. Each team will compete at the New Haven Regional held at Huntington University next Saturday morning.
The volleyball team advances to tonight's sectional championship at Wawasee, beating Tippecanoe Valley 3-0 in the sectional semi-finals earlier this afternoon. West Noble will get NorthWood in the championship game, looking to win its first sectional title since 2018.
Game time is at 6 p.m. tonight at the Hardwood Teepee. Be there, and be loud!

The end of the road is near for the West Noble Lightning Brigade following results from the Plymouth's ISSMA Scholastic Prelims on Saturday.
West Noble competed in the Scholastic B division and scored a Silver Rating, but wasn't able to qualify for further advancement in the state series, ending its fall competition season.
The Lightning Brigade will have one more performance this fall, set to perform this Friday at the West Noble home football game. Let's make sure we recognize these hardworking musicians one more time this fall!
Special thanks to Moorea Douglas for providing photos from The Rockpile in Plymouth at Saturday's performance.
