Piggybacking the momentum from a great Friday night of football, cross country opened its competition season with entry in the Elkhart Christian Academy Invite and volleyball hosted its 11th annual West Noble Charger Invite.
The girls cross team sent out eight of its best runners and came away with a team title, the four pairs from the relay-style Hokum Karem format topped a good groups of local programs, while the boys showed well among some of the area's top outfits.
Volleyball was oh, so close in its pursuit of a title, tying for first in its pool play, but lost on a tiebreaker and settled for third on the podium.
Great weekend of Charger athletics, and we're just getting started! Go Chargers!
