Today is a Flex Day for the West Noble School Corp. Kids are working on eLearning assignments while staff members have been involved in team meetings, online tutorials and an informal learning session with Carrie Hoffman from Parkview Health regarding the new Shared Clinic for West Noble Schools. Specifically for the clinic, this is a new benefit for West Noble staff and their families to help with medical needs. Hoffman answered questions ranging from the clinic benefits, how it relates to insurance, what types of services can be rendered, and fielded direct questions from employees.
The kids aren't on campus today, but it was still a busy day with our staff and we continue to learn and grow!

Just a couple notes ahead of the IHSAA Wrestling Semi-state at Fort Wayne this Saturday.
Start time for the semi-state is 8:30 a.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased at the coliseum gates.
Our three West Noble wrestlers - Leon Bontrager, Gavin Christman and Brogan Parks - will compete in the opening round and need to win two matches to advance to the IHSAA State Finals. A loss before those two wins eliminates each competitor.

We have a trio of semi-state qualifiers today after the finals of the Goshen Boys Wrestling Regional!
Brogan Parks led the way for West Noble with his first regional championship, winning all three of his matches at 190 pounds via pin fall, the final at 2:51 against NorthWood's Austin King.
Leon Bontrager opened the morning with a win in the ticket round of the 113 card, winning by tech fall and wound up third. Gavin Christman also finished third at 138, winning his final match against Lakeland.
Joe Button and Korbin Rassner both had their seasons end, Rassner by major decision and Button on a tough one-point loss.
Parks, Christman and Bontrager now look to the Fort Wayne Semi-state next weekend, needing two wins to make the IHSAA State Finals.

It was a short-lived postseason for the West Noble Lady Chargers. Falling behind by double digits in the first quarter, West Noble couldn't catch Columbia City in an eventual 58-26 loss in the opening matchup of the IHSAA Class 3-A Girls Basketball Sectional at Tippecanoe Valley.
Elyse Mead led the Lady Chargers with 13 points in the season finale, which has West Noble's roller coaster season wrap up at 7-15 overall.

Shot through the heart, and you're to blame...
The West Noble High School semi-formal is a pick your poison this year. Landing on Friday, Feb. 13, you can go the scary route and work the angle of Freddy Krueger, or you can doll up and shoot the arrow to a Valentine's Day theme. Your choice, choose your adventure.
Tickets go on sale this Wednesday and are $15 per person pre-sale, or $20 at the door. If you are bringing someone who is not a West Noble student, a guest form must be filled out for them to attend. All forms are due by Feb. 11.

The first stage of the IHSAA Wrestling state tournament is now in the books, and West Noble will have a lot of hands on deck next week.
The Chargers had a sectional champion in 190-pound sophomore Brogan Parks, who rode the top seed in the bracket with a pair of pins to make the final. And in dominant fashion in the championship match against Angola's Owen Shull, Parks was a complete control in a 16-0 tech fall to claim the posterboard.
Both Gavin Christman (138) and Joe Button (144) were both runner-ups, Leon Bontrager (113) was third, and Korbin Rassner (126) worked his way to fourth place to round out the automatic qualifiers for next week's Goshen Regional.
Peyton Franklin (175) and Eduardo Rodriguez (215) were both fifth place and are set as alternates awaiting a call to see their seasons continue.
Congrats to Parks and all the Chargers on their sectional success, and good luck at the regional next Saturday!

West Noble held its Fitness Center open house Friday evening at the high school, inviting the community to see West Noble's latest jewel to its campus. Among the evening was a photo opp in the weight room with members of the West Noble School Corporation school board as well as Ligonier mayor, Earle Franklin.
Before the start of the West Noble-Fairfield boys basketball game, Franklin was presented a commemorative plaque from West Noble school board president Joe Hutsell as West Noble superintendent recognized the moment.
We thank the Ligonier Redevelopment Commission for their support in helping complete the fitness center, and to all those who brought the center to life!
